Sustainable Marine Energy
Sustainable Marine Energy (SME) is a developer of tidal energy platforms hosting SCHOTTEL HYDRO tidal generators. SME also develops enabling technologies for its tidal energy projects with applications in other marine sectors, such as the RAPTOR rock anchor and installation ROV. All of this significantly reduces the cost of deploying and maintaining tidal energy systems. PLAT-I, SME’s 280kW surface floating platform, has been built in Scotland and is currently undergoing power generation trials near Oban. It will be deployed in South East Asia in 2018 forming the first platform of a planned 5MW array. A second platform is planned for build in 2018 and deployment in Canada.
